How to Restore Factory Defaults in Linksys

    • 1). Turn on the router and check the Ethernet port in the back to ensure the cable is plugged in. The other end should be plugged into the computer.

    • 2). Open your browser and type "192.168.1.1" into the address bar. If you have model WRP400, type "192.168.15.1" instead. If necessary, follow the instructions provided by Linksys for determining your router's IP address.

    • 3). Press "Enter" and type in the user name and password for the router. If you have not changed it, leave the user name blank and enter "admin" for the password.

    • 4). Click "OK." Write down the settings you see if you'd like to restore them afterward.

    • 5). Go to the "Administration" tab.

    • 6). Click "Factory Defaults" and click the "Restore Factory Defaults" button.

    • 7). Read the warning message and click "OK." The IP address, user name, password and all settings will be restored to default.
