How to Replace the LCD Screen on an Aspire 6930
- 1). Shut down the laptop through the operating system. Unplug the main power cord, close the display panel and place the laptop face down. Remove the battery pack from the bottom side of the laptop.
- 2). Flip the laptop over, and pull open the display panel as far as possible. Use a thin, flat-head screwdriver to pry the rubber screw covers from the LCD screen's front panel. Remove the Phillips-head screws from the front panel. Lift the front panel from the display to reveal the LCD screen.
- 3). Locate the inverter board inside the bottom edge of the display panel below the LCD screen. Disconnect the two backlight cables from each end of the inverter. Lift the inverter out of the display panel.
- 4). Remove the Phillips-head screws mounting the LCD screen to the rear display panel. Grasp the top edge of the LCD screen, and tilt it forward until you have access to the back of the screen.
- 5). Unplug the main LCD video cable from its connector on the backside of the screen. Peel away any adhesive tape securing the cable to the back of the LCD. Lift the screen out of the display panel, and set it aside.
- 6). Reverse this procedure to install the new LCD screen.
