How to Start an Acer Integrated Webcam
- 1). Click "Start," choose "All Programs," click the "Acer Crystal Eye webcam" folder and then click "Acer Crystal Eye webcam." The webcam program opens. If you see your face on the screen, your webcam is working. Use the buttons beneath the image to take pictures or videos. Proceed to Step 2 if the webcam is not working.
- 2). Click "Start" and choose "Control Panel." Click "Hardware and Sound" in the window that appears. Click "Device Manager" under the "Devices and Printers" heading.
- 3). Expand the "Imaging devices" category in the Device Manager's list. Right-click "USB Camera" and choose "Enable" if the option is available in the drop-down menu. Return to Step 1 and try the software again. If "Enable" is not available, choose "Properties" and read the "Device Status" field. If the field indicates the device's drivers are not in order, or if you can't find the "USB Camera" entry in the list, proceed to Step 4.
- 4). Download and install the camera drivers for your particular Acer laptop or netbook model from the website acer.com. Repeat Steps 1 through 3 after installing the drivers.
