  Asus is a very popular manufacturer of computers and computer parts. In addition, it offers a wide range of notebook computers, including a number of laptops designed for gaming. Asus is also one of the few laptop manufactures to supply all of their own parts. Most other companies rely on Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) to supply casings, LCDs, motherboards and other components. • The G73Jh is available with an i7, i5, or an i3 quad-core processor, up to 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, a DirectX 11-capable Radeon HD 5870 graphics card and Windows 7. The i7 processor is one of the fastest processor options available. Although 8 GB of RAM is not a huge amount, it is enough for gaming. The Radeon HD graphics card has 1 GB of video RAM; combined with DirectX 11, it can run practically any game at its highest settings.

• The G72Gx is available with an Intel Quad Core or Core 2 Duo processor. It comes with up to 6 GB of DDR2 RAM and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M video card. It runs Windows 7. While these processors are fast, 6 GB of RAM may not be enough for high-end gaming. The graphics card, however is fairly high end, and the 1 GB of video RAM will go a long way toward allowing your computer to run graphics-intensive games.

• The Asus G71Gx comes with either an Intel Quad Core or Core 2 Duo processor. It uses an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M graphics card. It has 3 GB of DDR2 Ram on the 32-bit OS model, and up to 6 GB on the 64-bit. It runs Windows Vista, which may slow the system. However, it includes an application called "CPU Level Up," which allows users to overclock the CPU by up to 20 percent.
