How to Read eBooks on the Kindle App on My PC
- 1). Open the Kindle PC application.
- 2). Sign in to your Amazon.com account if you are prompted to do so.
- 3). Close any open book by selecting "File" and then "Close Book." On the homepage, books in the "My Kindle Content" folder will be displayed. Books purchased from Amazon.com will appear here after syncing. To sync your purchases, click "Tools" and then click "Sync and Check for New Items." Archived books will appear under the "Archived Items" tab. To download one of these books, select "Archived Items" and double-click on the e-book.
- 4). Add a book downloaded from a source other than Amazon.com to the Kindle's homepage by placing the file in the "My Kindle Content" folder. This is usually under the "My Documents" folder, although it may be elsewhere. To locate the folder, click "Tools," "Options" and then "Content." The current content folder will be listed.
- 5). Double-click an e-book on the Kindle homepage to open it.
