473nm Blue Laser Beam - The Blue Laser Pointer Seen Around The World

A blue laser beam is produced at a visible light frequency of 473nm using an advanced crystal.
Since its wide scale release, the diode has seen persistent jumps in designs as well as sales world wide.
What originally started as a bulky box device has evolved with the times until today 473nm pointers are available in hundreds, even thousands, of different varieties.
There is, however, some concern about buying cheap blue laser pointers.
This is because the diode is relatively new to the market and many technicians are unfamiliar with working on the technology.
Its no surprise that it took several years from the creation of the 473nm blue beam before hand held pointers were made available.
Hobbyists and professionals are quite used to the site of a powerful green or red laser pointer, so when Shuji Nakamura first released his blue LED to an open market, there was a huge rush by major corporations to catch up with the times.
Of course, when the word that a beautiful beam could now be produced on a large scale, the demand for a 473nm pointer began to grow and grow.
Finally, in the year 2005, the online market started to see many retailers try to promote and advertise their newly designed blue handheld lasers.
However, in the beginning sales were a bit stagnant.
The portable blue diode was fairly "infant" and many designers were having trouble creating high quality unit that would actually be able to maintain some consistent output.
The problem that most manufacturers would run into was that an advanced crystal is far harder to design into a convenient solid state pointer than its red or green predecessor.
For the first several models, or generations, of most 473 nm lasers was fairly poor.
Many users reported diodes that would burn out, or the beam would diverge, or not be very visible, or even start to produce a purple beam at lower temperatures.
The outlook for the beginning of the blue laser pointer was not a very bright one.
But with time comes change.
Today, you can find some of the most advanced products in the world at 473nm blue.
Designs have even improved so much so that certain units are shock resistant and even waterproof lasers up to several hundred meters.
The demand for high quality and high power hand held pens has really pushed laser designers to strive for market dominance.
A good model can really go a long way as there is little competition for manufacturers in comparison to green or red lasers.
If you are considering to buy blue laser pointers, be sure that you do a little bit of research before jumping right in and purchasing a 473nm.
All blue lasers are not created equal!
