How to Install & Upgrade Memory RAM Chips in the Compaq Armada M700
- 1). Shut down the Compaq Armada M700 and remove the battery and AC power cord.
- 2). Locate the keyboard release lock tabs next to the "Esc," "F6," "F12" and "Delete" keys on the top row of your Compaq Armada keyboard. Use a screwdriver and press the lock tabs until you feel and hear them click.
- 3). Remove your keyboard by pulling it from the base of your laptop. Rest the keyboard on the base of your laptop. Do not pull out the keyboard-connecting wire attached to the CPU.
- 4). Press the RAM release lever and pull out the existing RAM chip. Slide your new RAM chip into your computer and put your keyboard back on. Power on your computer and it will automatically update its configuration with the new RAM.
