    • 1). Insert the Microsoft XBox 360 hard drive into a hard drive dock or hard drive enclosure. These devices take internal hard drives (such as the XBox 360 drive) and convert the equipment into an external drive, which in turn allows you to hook up the equipment to a USB port. These docks and enclosures are available at most computer and electronics stores.

    • 2). Plug the provided USB data cable into the USB port on your drive enclosure, then connect the free end into any USB port on the computer system.

    • 3). Download and install the Maximus Firmware Toolbox 4.6 application, if you haven't already.

    • 4). Open the installed application by double-clicking the desktop icon or selecting it from the "Start" menu. Choose the connected Xbox 360 as the drive you want to flash, then click "Start." The application will remove the installed programming from the gaming drive.
