Headrest Monitor Installation in a Jeep Liberty
- 1). Press and hold down the button on the headrest and pull the headrest up until it is removed from the seat. Snap the connections of "Part 1" of the screen mounting bracket into the connections of "Part 2" to make the two pieces one unit. The two parts of the unit are united, but the two sections are still known as "Part 1" and "Part 2" to make the following directions more specific.
- 2). Place the plastic cylinder tubes inside the holes of "Part 2" of the bracket. Insert the rods of the removed headrest through the plastic tubes that you just installed in "Part 2" of the unit.
- 3). Fit the poles of the headrest through the holes of the seat. Push the headrest all the way down to secure the base into place. Place the monitor over the clip screw at the end of "Part 1." Position the monitor in the direction you want it to face then tighten the clip screw with a Philips screwdriver. When the clip screw is tightened, the monitor is locked in that position.
- 4). Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the clip screw located at the pivot point of the bracket to adjust the positioning of the monitor arm. Tighten the clip screw when it is positioned how you want it.
- 5). Plug the 9-pin plug into the 9-pin socket on the back of the monitor. Cut a hole in the back of the seat where the monitor can conceal it. Cut another hole under the bottom of the seat where it will not be seen. Cut a hole in the carpet under the seat so the hole is not visible. Place a straightened wire hanger through the carpet hole and shove it under the carpet to loosen the glue that holds the carpet to the floor creating a path for the wires to travel under.
- 6). Tie the wires around one end of the hanger and push the hanger through the hole in the top of the seat down where it can exit through the bottom of the seat. Pull the hanger through the hole and feed it through the hole in the carpet. Push the hanger through the edge of the carpet where all the other wires are hidden under the dash. Run the wires up the dash and connect the positive wire to the positive power wire and the negative wire to the negative power wire.
