How to Replace RAM in My Dell PC
- 1). Turn off your Dell PC, and remove the power cord and any other peripheral components.
- 2). Remove the side of your computer case by removing the two screws that secure it on the back of your case. You should now be able to see your motherboard.
- 3). Locate your old sticks of RAM. They will look exactly like the sticks you have purchased.
- 4). Press down on the tabs at both ends of your old RAM sticks, then pull the RAM away from your motherboard.
- 5). Place your new sticks of RAM into the slots you just emptied. Align the ends of the RAM sticks with the slots. Gently press your RAM stick into its slot until the locked tabs at the end of the sticks are in an upright position.
