How to Replace a Latitude Keyboard
- 1). Turn off your Dell Latitude and remove the power cable. Turn your computer upside down and then slide the battery out of its bay on the underside of the computer.
- 2). Locate two plastic tabs on the side of the battery compartment and slide them to the right to unlock the LCD cover on the top side of the computer.
- 3). Turn your Dell right-side up and flip the screen open. Then locate the rectangular LCD cover just above the keyboard and gently pry it up at the edge and remove it from the laptop.
- 4). Remove the two screws just above the keyboard.
- 5). Use your fingers to lift the keyboard up at the top and then gently pull it back to remove it from the computer. Fit the new keyboard in the old one's place and gently press down on the sides to secure it. Replace the screws and LCD cover and you're done.
