    Common Side Effects

    • Various side effects from Neumega can occur. These side effects frequently happen to Neumega users, and tend to go away quickly. If they are particularly bothersome to you, however, you should notify your physician about them. These common side effects are the legs or the arms becoming mildly swollen, sores or inflammation of the lips or the mouth, constipation, shortness of breath when in motion, chills, stomachache, weakness, throwing up, runny nose, insomnia, sore throat, appetite loss, joint ache, coughing more, hair loss, flushing, indigestion, fever, diarrhea, nausea, muscle ache and headache.

    Serious Side Effects

    • Though relatively uncommon, more severe side effects can also happen with Neumega. These side effects require immediate medical assistance. They are swelling, redness, or pain where the medicine was injected, extreme headache, flutter of the heart, eye infection, passing out, eye pain, weakness on one side of the body, abnormal bruising, severe dizziness, changes in the vision, abnormal swelling, rapid or irregular heartbeat and chest pounding.

    Allergic Reactions

    • In some cases, allergic reactions to this medication are possible. Allergic reactions to Neumega can have some serious consequences, so emergency medical attention is necessary. Some signs to watch out for include chest heaviness, itching, swelling, rash, difficulty breathing and hives on the skin.

    Caution

    • It is vital to be careful when considering use of this medicine. You must inform your doctor of any medical conditions that you might have, especially if you have or have had kidney problems, multiple myeloma, brain tumor, leukemia, hypertension, heart disease, lung problems, congestive heart failure, stroke and irregular heart rhythm. Your doctor must be aware of any allergies (to foods or medicines) that you might have. You also must notify your doctor if you are either pregnant or breastfeeding.

    Overdose

    • Neumega overdose can be very dangerous, and can produce some harmful side effects. If you think that you might have overdosed on this medicine, you need to get emergency medical care. Some signs of Neumega overdose are rapid or irregular heartbeat on a continuing basis.
