    • 1). Collapse all open windows to the taskbar so that only your computer desktop is showing. If Photoshop is running, close it now.

    • 2). Click the "Start" button, then click "Control Panel." If Category View is active, select "Large Icons" from the drop-down menu. Double-click the icon labelled "Fonts."

    • 3). Click and drag the OTF or TTF font file from the desktop into the Fonts window and wait for the installation progress bar to disappear. Repeat this process for all new fonts you want to install.

    • 4). Start Adobe Photoshop CS4. Click "File," "New," then "OK." Click on the Text tool. Click the "Font" drop-down menu, then find the font you installed and click it to set it as active.
