How to Convert Miles Walked to MPH
- 1). Write down the distance you walked and the time it took you to walk this distance, in minutes. Make sure you measure the total distance you walked, not just the distance between the start and end point. If you took a meandering path, you would have walked more than if you went in a straight line from one point to another.
- 2). Stop if it took you exactly one hour to walk the distance. If you did this, the distance you walked is your speed in MPH.
- 3). Divide the time it took to walk the distance into 60, since there are 60 minutes in an hour. For example, if you walked 40 minutes, divide 60 by 40, which equals 1.5.
- 4). Multiply that number by the number of miles you walked. This is your speed in MPH. For example, if you walked four miles in 40 minutes, your speed would be 6 MPH.
