    • 1). Rest the chainsaw on a table or workbench. You do not want the chainsaw to move around while you replace the chain.

    • 2). Disengage the chain brake by pressing the plastic lever in front of the handle to the upright position.

    • 3). Look at the right side of the chainsaw. Near the chain are two bolts. Unscrew them by turning them counterclockwise with a wrench. Slide the plate off behind the bolts.

    • 4). Pull the chain off the bar. Be careful as it is sharp.

    • 5). Slide the new chain around the bar. Make sure the chain is snug before moving any further. It should not be drooping off the bar.

    • 6). Fit the plate back onto the chainsaw and screw the bolts back into place.
