Think about how enchanting it would be if a wall of your living room were transformed into a tropical paradise.
Besides being more beautiful, your home would be healthier because plants are natural air filters.
If you plant your garden vertically you can still have lots of plants without taking up too much floor space.
When NASA studied the effects of tropical plants on air quality within a home, they found that common houseplants are able to remove dangerous pollutants from the air.
Household air is contaminated by fumes created by a variety of substances commonly used in homes such as carpet glue and paint.
Additional research on this topic was conducted by the University of Guelph.
They concluded that besides filtering chemical pollution from the air, plants helped create a healthier atmosphere by regulating room humidity and temperature.
To construct a tall garden wood or metal is used to create an individual module for each plant.
Sometimes soil or a substitute for soil is used in this type of indoor gardening.
Sometimes no dirt is used at all, only a hydroponic water distribution system.
Houseplants thrive on this type of setup.
The water used is infused with the nutrients the plants would normally extract from soil.
A pump is used to move the water to the top of the wall.
Then it trickles down to water the lower plants.
Very little maintenance is required.
The plants used in a garden will vary according to the location.
Since there is not much root space, plants which usually grow in shallow soil tend to do best.
Orchids look lovely and grow well near the top.
Indoor home gardening using a vertical plant garden will make your home more healthier and more comfortable.
It will also look so beautiful and unique you'll love showing it off to your guests.
