When one finds themselves in the grips of panic attack disorder it tends to be a very lonely and frightening place to be, the confusion of all the heightened emotions, the absolute fear and anxiety which consumes you and right at the end that very lonely feeling of being all alone in your situation is what makes panic attack support so vital for the sufferer of anxiety or panic disorder.
Even though most people who suffer from this disorder will tend to shrink away from society and their loved ones, it is actually the support of these people which they now need more than ever.
Far too often those around a sufferer will back of at the onset of the disorder, but to be really effective in helping the individual recover the individual will need all the love and panic attack support which they can get.
Now far too often people will tend to think that giving anxiety attack support is done by means of trying to make life easier for the individual suffering from the disorder, but this is not always true.
Yes, by showing them unconditional love and that they have you to back them up you will already be making a huge difference, but there are types of support which may do more harm than good.
Take for example, if the individual happens to be suffering the attacks when confronted by public places and having to do normal tasks such as paying for items at the cash register in the store and you think you will be helping them by doing it for them, you are oh so wrong.
By doing this you will be doing nothing but helping them draw further back into the shell they have created for themselves and it will become increasingly more difficult for them to come out again.
To effectively be able to offer panic attack support to a sufferer, you will often be needed to grit your teeth and back them up as they begin to confront their fears.
It is far better for you to offer support by learning as much as possible about the disorder and then to offer panic attack support by guiding them in the direction of other methods of overcoming the disorder such as relaxation exercises, healthy living, cognitive behavioral therapy and any of the other various treatment methods available.
Sometimes one needs to be cruel in order to be kind and with this disorder a firm hand of helpful guidance will be far more effective as panic attack support than simply staying ignorant and helping the sufferer deeper into the grips of their disorder.
