Add Disk Cleanup Icon to the Desktop

• 1). Click on the "Start" button on the lower left-hand side of the screen. Go to "All Programs" and then to "Accessories." Scroll over to "System Tools," then right-click on "Disk Cleanup." Scroll down to "Properties" to open the Disk Cleanup Properties box.
  
  
• 2). Select "Find Target" to open the location of the "Disk Cleanup" file. Right-click on the "cleanmgr" icon when the location is shown. Scroll down to "Cut."
  
  
• 3). Go to "Other Places" on the left-hand side of the window. Choose "My Computer," then select the hard drive where you want to put the Disk Cleanup utility. Double-click on the hard drive and select "Documents and Settings." Choose the desired user and double-click on it. Open "Desktop" and right-click in that window near the empty area on the bottom. Select "Paste."
  
  

Add a Shortcut to the Desktop

• 1). Click on the "Start" button on the lower left-hand side of the screen. Go to "All Programs" and then to "Accessories."
  
  
• 2). Scroll over to "System Tools." Right-click on "Disk Cleanup."
  
  
• 3). Select "Send to" and then scroll over to "Desktop (create shortcut)."
  
  

Add the Disk Cleanup Icon to Multiple Desktops

• 1). Click on the "Start" button on the lower left-hand side of the screen. Go to "Search." Click "Find all files and folders" and copy and paste "cleanmgr" into "All or part of the file name" box.
  
  
• 2). Scroll down the "Look in" pull down menu to "Browse." Open the "Browse for" box. Expand "My Computer" and select the hard drive letter you are on. Select "WINNT" or "Windows" depending on how your file system is set up. Click "OK." Click "Search."
  
  
• 3). Right-click on the "cleanmgr" icon and scroll down to "Copy." Place the "cleanmgr" icon on a floppy disk, CD or another operating system on your current computer.
