How to Blend Watercolor Markers
- 1). Make your initial sketch on watercolor paper using a 2H pencil, which has a hard lead but makes lightly colored marks. It is important to use a pencil with hard lead so that the markings don't smudge. The light coloring of the marks ensures that they won't show through your painting.
- 2). Dip your watercolor marker into a glass of water and start to paint your sketch.
- 3). Dip a second watercolor marker into the glass of water and paint near the first color.
- 4). Sweep a dry brush across the two colors, using a very light stroke. Repeat the strokes until the colors are blended to your liking.
