How to Clean Baked-On Grease in the Kitchen
- 1). Allow the surface to cool completely.
- 2). Scrape off the excess baked-on debris using a wooden scraper. Remove as much baked-on grease as possible.
- 3). Mix 1/2 cup of warm water with 1/2 cup of baking soda in a container to form a paste the texture of icing.
- 4). Slather the paste over the baked-on grease stains. Keep the paste on the surface for 30 minutes.
- 5). Moisten a nylon scrubbing pad with warm water. Scrub the paste with the pad to loosen the stubborn grease and grime.
- 6). Examine the surface for remaining grease residue. If residue persists, spray the surface with a grease cutting all-purpose cleaner, according to the instructions printed on the bottle's label. Keep the all-purpose cleaner on the surface for 15 minutes.
- 7). Saturate a cleaning rag with warm water. Wipe the surface with the wet rag to rinse the baking soda paste, all-purpose cleaner and loosened grease.
- 8). Wipe the surface with a terry cloth towel until dry.
