Mercruisers are sterndrive engines produced by Mercury Marine. A sterndrive is also known as an inboard/outboard drive because it combines features of both inboard and outboard motors. Mercruisers were first released at the Chicago Boat Show in 1961, and they proved innovative because they featured the first sterndrive that offered more than 100 horsepower. The 6.2 MPI engine is a sterndrive produced by Mercruiser for the 2010 model year.
