How to Change an Air Filter in a 2005 Toyota Camry
- 1). Open the hood to access the engine compartment. Locate the air-filter housing at the top of the engine. The air-filter housing will be a black box with clips on the side and a black hose attached.
- 2). Unclip the four clips around the air-filter housing. This will loosen the cover.
- 3). Pull the air-filter housing cover off with your fingers. This will expose the air filter.
- 4). Pull the air filter out with your fingers. Ensure you remember the position the old filter occupied in the housing.
- 5). Clean all the sediment and debris out of the bottom of the air-filter housing. This will prevent mechanical failure from debris getting blown into the engine.
- 6). Insert the new air filter into the housing. Ensure the filter is positioned the same as the old one.
- 7). Place the cover back over the housing. Lock the four clips around the air-filter housing to secure the cover. Close the hood.
