How to Remove a Makarov Extractor
- 1). Remove the magazine from a Makarov pistol and pull the slide back to eject any rounds in the chamber.
- 2). Unscrew and remove the screw in the rear of the grip with a screwdriver. Slide the grip from the pistol.
- 3). Pull downward on the trigger guard and set it to one side of the barrel.
- 4). Cock the hammer and slide the slide backwards and upwards, removing its rear end from the pistol.
- 5). Release the slide forward and remove it from the pistol.
- 6). Locate the extractor on the side of the slide.
- 7). Insert a Makarov cleaning tool into the gap between the extractor and the extractor spring and push the spring backwards.
- 8). Push the extractor forward and out of the slide.
