    • 1). Start by measuring the lengths of the threads that you will be using to make your bracelet. Keep in mind that you will need six pieces of thread, with two sets of matching colors, each measuring 6 yards long. Alternately, you can measure threads with your arms. Note that each thread should be two arm lengths long. Tie a knot an inch down from the end of the first thread on the far left side, leaving enough room to make it into a loop. Clip the loop to the clipboard.

    • 2). Examine your threads while on the clipboard. Be mindful that the first thread on the far left and last thread on the far right should be the same colors, the second and fifth thread should be the same color as well as the third and fourth thread. Rearrange your threads to make a "V" pattern by working the first thread into the center of the threads and then working the last strand on the far right into the center.

    • 3). Pick up the first thread, use it to tie two knots around the second and third thread, then place the first thread to the right of the third thread. With the sixth thread, tie two knots on both the fourth and fifth strand. Take the sixth thread and tie two knots on the first strand. This will complete the top portion "V"-shaped pattern.

    • 4). Start on the next row by tying two knots around the third and sixth thread with the the second thread. Place the second thread to the right of the sixth thread, then grab the fifth thread and start working from right to left, tying two knots around the fourth, second and first strand. This will complete the bottom portion of the "V" pattern.

    • 5). Proceed with each row the same way. Weave the thread on the far left across the rows of threads, and weave the thread on the far right to the right and back to the center. Keep creating knots in the same way until only 2 inches of thread are left. Finish the bracelet by sliding three threads through the first loop at the top of the friendship bracelet. Tie the remaining threads to the threads in the loop.
