How to Make a Rose Out of Felt Fabric

    • 1). Cut your red fabric into sections. The sections should be about the size of a standard rose petal--about 3-by-3 inches. You'll need about 10-to-15 petal sections. Now take your green fabric and cut it, if necessary, to make up the size and length of your stem. Stems can run anywhere from 12 to 21 inches. Roll up the green fabric completely and glue the edge down onto the stem. Let it dry.

    • 2). Take two to four pieces of red fabric and roll them into a tight little ball. Glue them together so that they stay in the form of this ball. This is going to be the center of your rose. You want to make sure the center is fairly large, so you'll be able to build the entire rose around it.

    • 3). Glue the first piece of red fabric to the ball. This is your first petal. Glue the next one beside the first one onto the ball and continue all the way around the middle of your rose. You'll begin to see the rose taking shape.

    • 4). Attach the next layer by gluing the next piece of fabric a little more upward on the first petal. Make sure it also touches the inside or middle of the rose, so your rose will be sturdier when finished. Glue the next layer all the way around, and continue with this until all your fabric pieces are gone. Let it dry.

    • 5). Finish the rose by gluing the top of the stem onto the bottom of the rose. Make sure it's secure; you don't want the stem to fall off. Let it dry. Then you're finished. Accent the rose by putting small specs of glue here and there to give the illusion of clear water drops.
