How to Stiffen a Crochet With Corn Starch
- 1). Measure 1/4 cup of cornstarch. Place it in a saucepan.
- 2). Measure 1 1/2 cups of water. Pour it into the saucepan.
- 3). Stir the ingredients to make a smooth, even mixture.
- 4). Place the saucepan on a stove burner. Set it to medium-high heat. Cook the mixture until it is thick. Continue stirring occasionally to keep the mixture even.
- 5). Remove the mixture from the heat once it is translucent. Allow it to cool to room temperature.
- 6). Dip the crochet into the room-temperature mixture. Remove the item once it is saturated. Run your fingers over the item to remove excess moisture.
- 7). Lay the item flat. Shape the crochet. Dab it with a washcloth to remove any remaining, excess cornstarch.
