Businesses that make money people want to buy from.
So do people want to buy from you? People prefer to buy from people that they like.
Lots of books have been written on why customers buy, when they buy and so on.
I'm going to focus on how to get people to like you and your business.
Once they like you they will buy from you and your small business.
1.
Adopt a client mindset A customer is defined as "One that buys goods or services" or "An individual with whom one must deal" both don't have very positive associations to them.
A client is "One that depends on the protection of another.
" If you start to see yourself your business and your employees as protectors you will start to see that what you have has a greater value.
When your whole business adopts this viewpoint of working with clients.
Even if you own a gas station you will start to create an environment in which people want to buy from you.

Listen to your clients We have all experienced it.
You ask a simple question and you get a canned scripted answer.
So you explain your situation again and you get the same canned scripted answer.
You get frustrated and the person you are talking to puts their guards up and you end up in an argument.
When your systems kill your employee's ability to be human beings you create robots.
People want the real connection of a real person.
Train your employees well so they can be of real help when special requests come up.
3.
Appreciate your clients When you sincerely appreciate and express your gratitude to your clients they pick up on it and remember it.
All of us know when someone is giving us a load of bull.
You can't fake appreciation and gratitude.
You can turn it into a process though.
When was the last time you got a call from a store you bought something from and they just wanted to make sure that you where happy with the purchase? I've bought new cars and have never gotten a followup call.
Imagine buying a $50 dollar item and getting a call to see if you like the purchase.
It could turn you into a customer for life.
4.
Be yourself and allow your employees to have a personality I mentioned this before.
People know when you're faking.
Be you, be genuine.
People are naturally attracted to you when you are acting naturally.
This goes for your employees as well.
Be a boss that allows employees to shine.
You still need guidelines for them.
Just like two different actors are going to play the same part differently they still can do a great job and deliver a great performance.
Write the script for your employees and let them run with it.
Provide training for your staff, people naturally like to excel in things they do.
When they become more skilled they will work more efficiently and become more valuable.
5.
Be consistent.
Small business systems are critical.
Systems create consistency people like consistency.
When a client gets a consistent experience they become comfortable and will return time and time again.
If someone likes you they will buy from you.
If someone likes you and you have great products and service and give them a remarkable experience you will have a business that gives you freedom.
