Want to Be a Successful Entrepreneur One Day? Go to College

Here is the truth about business: anyone with an enterprising mind can start up a business.
Even 8 year-olds.
Many people say it boils down to attitude.
Some would say a business education is not necessary at all.
Contrary to popular belief, knowing the processes of how to carry out a business IS important.
Not having the right knowledge is as good as sending a blind man into a warzone.
It does not take a genius to figure out the outcome of that.
So why are there so many stories of kids, dropouts and perceived "social failures" earning their millions? These people do exist.
But compare this handful of people to the large number of world business leaders with degrees who grace the pages of business magazines.
Do you want to be a business owner who is viewed as a master of the trade? Or do you want global investors to perceive you as someone who just lucked out? Sometimes, it may seem that the business industry has an equal proportion of underdogs and people who know what they are doing.
But it could be that stories of heroes from rag to riches are more popular and interesting than people who carved their careers from scratch.
A further education prepares you for your future with necessary knowledge.
It also gives you a good image as a business founder.
Do businesses like Facebook, Berkshire Hathaway, Walmart and Google sound familiar to you? There is one thing at least one of their founders have in common - they have at minimum, completed a college education.
Some of them have pursued a Ph.
D.
Business degree students learn about how to use business functions to support any business.
These areas include marketing, management, and finance.
Students who go to school with a business idea in their head have an added advantage.
They can ask their lecturers for pointers and advice on whether it can work.
Here are three of the many fatal business mistakes that students will learn to avoid: 1) Failure to plan Those who follow this path are planning to fail.
In school, students learn how to balance a business' marketing mix to gain maximum profits with minimal efforts.
Prior to launching something new, plenty of research and planning has to be done.
Students will learn how to carry out business-related research.
This will help them to formulate data that will benefit both the customer and the corporation.
Companies that are looking into expansion also have to plan right.
Growing a business can be stuff of dreams.
But when done too quickly without proper planning, the business can crumble like a house of cards that is built impatiently.
Many small businesses go down because of failure to plan.
2) Trust no one but yourself No one can be too careful with their business secrets, right? Wrong.
Such business leaders may prevent internal staff from leaving and starting competing establishments.
But it also stresses the owner of the business.
Even presidents do not run countries by themselves.
They have various ministers and advisors to help.
If you want your business to go big, you have to think big.
And since two or more heads are better than one, it is best to find experts whom you can delegate work to.
A true leader has polished skills in business management and is able to leverage.
True leaders are capable of entrusting important tasks to the right people.
Not only does this enable the business to grow at full potential, the business owner can also achieve a seemingly elusive work-life balance if done right.
3) Expect the impossible It is good to look out for unexpected things that can ruin the business.
But expecting the impossible all the time will give employees the image of an unreasonable boss.
Indecisive and weak leaders who dislike challenges are not likely to attract the best staff.
But the best employees and business partners are unlikely to be charmed by disillusioned leaders either.
School will teach you the basics of what can and cannot be done in the business industry.
After you are done mastering your basics, it will be up to you to push the boundaries and make impossibilities happen.
As a business owner, it is alright to challenge your team.
But realistic goals over a set period of time will bring you more results than sky-high expectations over a short period of time.
