How to Steam Clean a Watch
- 1). Cover your hand with gloves to protect them from the steam vapors.
- 2). Go through the settings of the jewelry steam cleaner. Select the settings "gold" or "titanium" based on the material of your watch. If the bracelet is hard and broad, use the "strong" setting. For all other watches, select the "minimum" heat setting.
- 3). Hold the steam nozzle against each and every nook of the bracelet.
- 4). Scrap the bracelet gently with the baby tooth brush. Wipe the dirt away with a damp cloth.
- 5). Remove the watch battery. Remove the watch into pieces with the screw driver. Steam it for a few seconds. Wipe all the parts dry with a cloth. Dry the watch thoroughly. Replace the battery.
- 6). If the watch has leather strap, cleaning with steam is very easy. Scrub with the toothbrush after steaming. The strap will become free of all the grease, oil and dirt.
- 7). Digital watches and water proof watches withstand a lot of water pressure. They do not withstand steam pressure. Clean their strap and bracelet alone with steam. Do not clean the center piece with steam. Use damp cloth or tooth pick to clean the digital parts.
