    • 1). Pour 1 quart of linseed oil into a clean 1-gallon paint can. Pour 1 pint of lacquer thinner into the can and stir with a flat stick.

    • 2). Sand the surface of the wood with 180-grit sandpaper.

    • 3). Brush a light coat of the thinned linseed oil onto the surface of the wood. Let it dry for 24 hours.

    • 4). Sand the wood lightly with 180-grit sandpaper.

    • 5). Brush on successive coats of thinned linseed oil glaze once a week for a month. The glaze will continue to build with each coat.
