How to Iron for Quilting
- 1). Place the fabric on a firm, heat-proof surface, such as a counter top or a cutting board. A regular ironing board is too soft and will not allow you to properly bond the starch with the fabric.
- 2). Clip loose threads from the edges of the fabric.
- 3). Spray starch on the front of the fabric and then flip it over.
- 4). Heat up a dry iron and press from the back of the fabric to bond the starch with the fibers.
- 5). Allow the fabric to cool before picking it up.
