How to Get Wood to Curl

    • 1). Raise the blade on a table saw to 1/8-inch from the tip of the highest tooth to the point where the blade emerges from the table.

    • 2). Set the table saw at 2 inches from the blade. Set the wood seat behind the blade and turn on the saw. Push the seat over the blade and pull it back.

    • 3). Move the fence 1/2 inch to the right. Pass the wood seat over the blade and pull it back.

    • 4). Reset the fence 1/4 inch to the right and continue passing the wood over the fence, resetting and repeating until you come to within 2 inches of the other side and stop.

You should have a comb-like design running across the bottom of the seat with 2-inch borders on each side.

    • 5). Lay the board in a dry location and wait 72 hours. If it is not sufficiently curled, place a clamp across it and tighten. Leave it for 72 hours and check again. If still not curled, continue clamping and leaving it alone and checking on it every 24 hours until it curves.
