How to Install Weatherstripping on Vent Windows in a Chevy Truck
- 1). Roll down all the windows and decide how many windows need new weatherstripping. Any place where the weatherstripping is cracked or brittle needs replacement.
- 2). Cut out the old weatherstripping with a utility knife and pull it out of the channels with needle-nose pliers.
- 3). Scrape any old glue still stuck to the door frame with the razor blade.
- 4). Apply a small bead of glue and spread it onto the door frame and the weatherstripping. Let dry to tacky. Slide the new weatherstripping into the door frame using the needle-nose pliers. Press the two surfaces together. Repeat for the other side of the door frame.
- 5). Follow Steps 2 to 4 for the other windows that need weatherstripping.
- 6). Allow the weatherstripping to dry for 30 minutes. Slowly roll the windows up and let them stay up for at least 24 hours before rolling them down again.
