How to Fix a Table Fan
- 1). Turn the fan off and unplug it from the electrical outlet. Wipe off dust with a lint-free cloth. Vacuum the vents on the back side of the motor housing to ensure air circulation to the motor. Do not immerse your fan in water or other liquids.
- 2). Push down on the knob on the top of the motor housing if the fan fails to oscillate. Loosen the screw on the side of the fan neck if you cannot adjust the fan's angle. Adjust the fan to the angle you want and tighten the screw.
- 3). Take apart the grilles by carefully removing the screw at the lower end of the grille and removing the hook from the hole by squeezing the ring. Remove the blade screw behind the blades and slide the blades off. Clean the blades and grilles with water and mild soap. Wipe the other fan parts with a soft cloth that is slightly damp. Wait for blades to dry completely and reassemble the fan by replacing the blades and grilles. Do not plug in your fan to a power outlet until it is dry and reassembled.
