How to Build Outside Patio Barbecue Grills
- 1). Place a long wooden table or bench on the patio surface. This will be the base for grilling buckets.
- 2). Paint an outdoor-quality stain on the table or bench. This will protect the wood from the weather. Allow the stain to dry thoroughly.
- 3). Drill four small holes spaced about 2 inches apart on one side of the table. Screw the small hooks into the holes. This provides a place to hang your grilling tools.
- 4). Place the four stone pavers on the table or bench top. Arrange the pavers on the table or bench so they are spaced equal distance apart. This is a heatproof surface to place the grilling buckets on to protect the table or bench.
- 5). Turn one of the buckets on its side. Measure and mark a location on the side of the bucket, 1 inch from the buckets base. Use a nail and a hammer to puncture a hole at the marked location.
- 6). Repeat Step 5 every 3 inches around the bucket. These are ventilation holes.
- 7). Repeat Steps 5 and 6 with the remaining 3 buckets.
- 8). Place all of the buckets on the paving stones, with the bottom of the bucket facing down. Center each of the buckets on the stones.
- 9). Place the small grill tops on top of the buckets, as a cooking surface.
- 10
Hang the grilling tools and gloves on the hooks on the side of the table or bench. - 1). Place a layer of charcoal in the bottom of each of the buckets. Tuck some fire lighters in with the charcoal.
- 2). Remove the grilling tops and light the charcoal carefully, using a lighter or match. When the charcoal is glowing red, put the grilling top back on.
- 3). Cook your food on the buckets in the same way you would grill on a traditional grill.
