How to Mount a 4X10 Speaker Bracket
- 1). Block open the trunk lid of the car so that it can't close on you accidentally.
- 2). Crawl into the trunk to see the underside of the package shelf. Loosen the three or four nuts on the perimeter of each of the original speakers. The number and size of nuts can vary, depending on the car model. Lower the speakers out of the car when they're loose.
- 3). Line up the new brackets onto the openings where the old speakers were, then slide the bracket onto the bolts that line up with the holes in the brackets. Place the nuts onto the bolts and tighten to hold the brackets in place.
- 4). Place your new speakers against the brackets, then screw the speakers into the brackets with the speakers' screws.
