Troubleshooting the Creative Zen Mozaic
- 1). Sync your Creative Zen Mozaic with your computer. The Zen Mozaic uses flash memory to store your music, which can fail if the device is not synched regularly. If tracks don't play normally, or disappear from your track list, then it's time to sync the device. Connect it to your computer, launch the creative software and then use the sync function to re-load all your tracks.
- 2). Install updated firmware. Since its release there have been several updates to the Creative Zen Mozaic firmware. See the "Resource" section for a link to download the Creative Zen Mozaic firmware. Once the download is completed, connect the Creative Zen Mozaic to the computer and launch the firmware installer. The new firmware will automatically be loaded into your player.
- 3). Update software. The Creative software has also been updated several times since the Creative Mozaic's release, and increases compatibility for the device, especially with new and patched operating systems.
- 4). Connect the Creative Zen Mozaic to a different USB port. If your Creative Zen Mozaic is not responding when you connect it to the computer, try connecting it to a different USB port. If you are using a hub, try disconnecting it and plugging the Creative Zen Mozaic directly into one of the computer's USB ports
- 5). Reset your device. If nothing else works, use a paperclip to press the "Reset" button on the side of the Creative Zen Mozaic. All of your content will be erased, and the device will revert to default settings. However, when you sync your device, all your content will be restored.
