How to Clean a Kohler Clawfoot Tub
- 1). Put on rubber gloves to protect your hands, and spray the tub down with a non-abrasive bathroom cleaner. If your tub has soap scum, Kohler suggests using a commercial, non-abrasive soap scum remover. If you do use soap scum remover, spray it over every area that has scum buildup---the product must touch the scum to be most effective at loosening it.
- 2). Wait for several minutes (follow the product label's directions---this may indicate around 15 minutes---but don't let chemicals sit on the tub's surface for longer than necessary.
- 3). Gently scrub the tub with a soft nylon brush or pad. Kohler warns against using abrasive cleaning tools, but nylon is fine and will help remove most dirt and soap scum.
- 4). Turn on the tub's faucet and soak a sponge in warm water. Wipe down the tub from top to bottom to clean off the rest of the dirt and soap scum that has been loosened.
- 5). Rinse out the tub with clean water. Wipe it down with a dry towel.
