How to Install an Amana Front-Load Riser
- 1). Uninstall and move your washer and dryer. Tip the appliance to which you're adding the riser onto its back. Remove the feet with a wrench.
- 2). Pull the riser drawer open and remove the package inside holding the screws needed for assembly. Make sure the riser has all four spacer pads stuck to the top corners.
- 3). Use a hex-head ratchet or nut driver to partially screw two of the hex-head, sheet-metal screws from the riser package into the lower holes on the bottom of the washer or dryer. Leave a 3/8-inch space between the head of the screw and the bottom of the washer or dryer.
- 4). Unscrew the hex-nut screws from the drawer slides and store them in a safe place. Remove the drawer, set it aside, and push the slides back into the riser.
- 5). Place the riser on its back, and then slide it next to the bottom of the washer or dryer. Locate the two keyhole slots on the riser, then align them with the hex screws on the lower part of the washer or dryer. Lift the riser slightly so the screws line up with the larger part of the keyhole, and then push the riser back so the screws push through the holes and slide the riser down.
- 6). Screw the other two hex-head screws into the top holes of the riser, but don't tighten them completely. Check to make sure the riser is aligned with the washer or dryer, then tighten the screws with the ratchet or nut driver.
- 7). Tip the washer or dryer upright and move it near its final location. Place a level on the top and adjust the feet on the bottom of the riser, if necessary, by turning the hex-head bolts on the bottom four corners inside the riser with a ratchet or wrench.
- 8). Securely tighten the four locknuts located on the top of the riser using a wrench.
- 9). Pull the riser drawer slides out and reinstall the drawer.
- 10
Reinstall the washer or dryer according to the manufacturer's installation instructions.
