How to Build a Lattice Panel
- 1). Adjust the miter saw to cut a 45-degree angle and lock the saw in position.
- 2). Cut a 45-degree angle on each end of both sizes of the cap-channel molding lengths using a miter saw. The long points on each length of molding should be on the outside edge of the molding. The outside edge is opposite the notched edge of the molding.
- 3). Lay the latticework on a work surface. Fit the 25-inch lengths of c-channel molding on the 24-inch sides of the latticework. Slide the edge into the channel on the molding. Fit the 49-inch lengths of molding over the 48-inch sides of the latticework. The ends of the molding will fit together to form right angles and resemble a picture frame around the latticework.
- 4). Drive one 1 5/8-inch deck screw through the ends of the 25-inch cap molding lengths into the ends of the 49-inch cap molding lengths to fasten the panel together using a screw gun.
