    Shut Down Through VMWare Infrastructure Client

    • 1). Open the VMWare Infrastructure Client. All VMWare servers display in the left pane.

    • 2). Right-click on the ESX server to show the context menu for the server.

    • 3). Click the “Shut Down” option from the context menu. The ESX server shuts down.

    Shut Down With Command Line Statement

    • 1). Click the Windows “Start” menu to show the Search box.

    • 2). Type “cmd” without quotes and press “Enter” to open the DOS command window.

    • 3). Type "shutdown -h now" without quotes at the command prompt and press the “Enter” key. The selected ESX server halts and exits.
