Homemade Pet Odor Cleaner
- 1). Clean up any pet stains before beginning. Absorb urine stains by blotting the area with paper towels. Pick up feces and vomit carefully with paper towels to avoid rubbing it further into the carpet. Vacuum up pet hair from the area as well.
- 2). Combine equal amounts of white distilled vinegar and water in a small bowl. Pour the solution into a spray bottle.
- 3). Soak the area with the vinegar solution. Allow it to sit for 15 minutes and then rinse the area with clean water.
- 4). Allow carpet to air dry. Soak up the solution with paper towels on other floor surfaces, such as hardwoods, linoleum, concrete and ceramic tile.
- 5). Combine ¼ cup of hydrogen peroxide with 1 teaspoon of liquid dish soap in a small bowl. Pour the cleaning solution into a spray bottle.
- 6). Spray the area with the peroxide solution.
- 7). Sprinkle baking soda over the area. Allow the area to dry completely.
- 8). Vacuum up the baking soda.
