How to Convert a Regular TV Set to HD
- 1). Check your TV's connection type. Different television sets use different methods of connecting and receiving signal.
- 2). Unplug your TV and TV antenna. Plug the TV antenna into the "Antenna in" port on your converter box.
- 3). Screw on the coaxial cable. On your converter box look for an area that's marked as "Out to TV." Take the other end of the cable and plug into the television's "Antenna in" port.
- 4). Add batteries to the HD remote. HD converter kits will typically come with a remote.
- 5). Turn on your television and converter box. Follow the instructions that appear on the TV screen. The instructions will lead you to scan for HD programming within your area. If you followed all steps completely, you will then be able to enjoy viewing HD television on your set.
