How to Run Scandisk at Boot Up on Windows 7
- 1). Click the "Start" icon on the Windows 7 taskbar, then click "Computer."
- 2). Right-click your primary hard drive beneath Hard Disk Drives. Typically, this is the "C" drive.

- 4). Click "Tools" and then click "Check Now" beneath Error-Checking. Enter your administrator's password if prompted.
- 5). Click to place a check to the left of "Automatically Fix File System Errors." This ensures that Windows 7 runs the scan when the computer boots up.
- 6). Click "Start" and then click "Yes" when the onscreen prompt asks if you want to reschedule the check for the next time the computer restarts.
- 7). Click the "Start" icon on the Windows 7 taskbar, then click the "Arrow" icon to the right of the "Shut Down" button in the lower-left corner of the Start menu. Click "Restart" to restart the computer. The program starts automatically during the boot process.
