The Biblical Answer to the Australian Once-in-a-Thousand-Year Drought
The Honorable Prime minister John Howard PO Box 6022 House of Representatives Parliament House Canberra ACT 2600 12th of November 2006 RE: The Biblical answer to the Australian once in a thousand year drought Dear John, As a person who has a mental illness, and a criminal record, it humbles me to write to a Federal member such as you.
I am not aware of how strong a Christian you are and what denomination you are from, but I appeal to you as a man who I feel might respect scripture that this letter is a simple man's answer to the problem we are in.
I am aware that you must have many spiritual advisors and with my many arrests and presentation in mental wards I have come to have a respect for the police and the mental health system that I am a part of.
I assure you I am on my medication, well rested and stable as I write this and would ask that you read this and pay attention to it.
In my time in churches over the years I have picked up some knowledge.
Unfortunately in the past 25 years I have not spent much time in church as I was in an addiction to prostitutes.
Sin kind of keeps you feeling guilty and if you have any sense of integrity the knowledge of your vile sin can sometimes keep you from the place you need to be.
At fourteen years of age I was molested and this sent my system and personality crazy and I slept with men and women and prostitutes and did all sorts of vile acts.
So, in saying this I am admitting that a person that has written this letter has done some vile things.
When I look at the drought this scripture comes to mind: 2 Chronicles 7:14 (New International Version) 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
This scripture has a few elements to it.
First one would have to admit the land is sick and needs healing.
For you to admit Australia is sick publicly might have you put in your own mental ward John.
But admission to an illness and the symptoms is often the first state that needs to be taken by any person or country.
Living in denial of cancer won't win you any more days on earth, in most cases it will simply rob you of days that you could live.
The world looks at Global warming as something that nature is doing.
We like to talk about nature because then the natives can have mother earth and the atheist can deny that there is a God, but God clearly states in the Word of God that He is the author of calamity.
Amos 3:6 (New International Version) 6 When a trumpet sounds in a city, do not the people tremble? When disaster comes to a city, has not the LORD caused it? Tragedy seen in this light takes the sting out of it.
The good Lord knows that the Twin Towers was planned and it was going to happen, and He essentially allowed it to happen.
But before He acts in judgement He warns the prophets so they can blow the trumpet.
Amos 3:7-8 (New International Version) 7 Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.
8 The lion has roared- who will not fear? The Sovereign LORD has spoken- who can but prophesy? In times of Old the King, the leader of a country had his prophets of God that he could consult.
The Christian church is divided on this issue, the likes of Hillsong believe that God can still speak through a man in an office of prophet,.
Whilst traditional churches like the Anglican, Baptists and Uniting seem to say that prophesy and prophets died out when the first Apostles died.
I am not sure what you believe though this is a time you should be consulting a true recognised prophet of God.
So the land is sick and it needs healing.
How is it sick you ask? Another scripture will answer that was written by Paul to the ancient Romans speaks of how Australia is sick.
Romans 1:27-32 (New International Version) 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another.
Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.
28Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.
29They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity.
They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice.
They are gossips, 30slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
32Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
Is not this the picture of many people in this country? Is not this a two thousand year old list of common faults we as humans have in this Country? First this is how we are sick.
And we received this depraved mind because we have turned away from worshipping the true God in our laws and our society, but if this is a result then God has a rescue plan to get the mind back and to healing.
We have to acknowledge this sin list.
Here' my sins in that list.
Homosexual acts, wickedness by helping girls become a prostitute by being their first good client.
In greed I have lied on my earnings to social security sometimes, Strife, I have spread things one person has said that I didn't believe in and caused harm to the speaker, in lying in many occasions I have been deceitful, in custody arrangements I said some bad things in malice, in spreading what such and such did and said, I have been a gossip, in speaking a damaging remark to a person or crowd I have slandered a person, In disobeying God I was a God hater, in not listening to my parents I was insolent, in thinking I have all the answers and my leaders are wrong I have been arrogant, in thinking highly of myself I have been boastful, in getting commissions for bringing clients to my regular prostitute I earned credit for money saved when I saw her each week I invented ways of doing evil, I have already said I have been disobedient to my parents, need I go on? The truth John is that the church is full of these kinds of people and the church is supposed to being the light that leads to Christ the Son of the living God.
This is not a list of sins outside the church but a list of sins in the church.
The country is sick because the church is sick and haemorrhaging.
The church are guilty of this verse, 32Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them? Death here means eternal hell, but God made forgiveness available through the cross of Jesus Christ.
In the Old Testament I would have been stoned for my behaviour to my parents, for Adultery and for getting a prophecy wrong.
So I wouldn't even be living to 39 years of age to write this to you.
Medical science has proven that most illnesses we experience and many of the fatal ones come from hate and bitterness and unresolved anger in our lives.
Paul has another list of sins that people in churches practice even as born again Christians and I will spare you how many I have been guilty of in this past year.
Galatians 5:19-21 (New King James Version) 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who "practice" such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
A lawyer practices law and while he does he earns a living.
When he stops the money from earnings stops and it's up to his savings to keep him.
This verse when understood means that if a person is practicing these things habitually until the day they die they will not inherit, or see in the spiritual realm beyond death, the Kingdom of heaven.
This verse by in large is not understood by many Christians and so they cry crocodile sort of tears every time they do it and say sorry to God and go and do it again and never find God's power to break free.
Which leads me to the solution.
We are sick and we need healing! Okay there are three steps.

Step 1.
Humble themselves.
This is not a church that advocates abortion, sexual sin, anger, divorce under no fault divorce, sodomy, or any of the aforementioned sins.
It is a church that will not tolerate this behaviour in its members and a church that will ex-communicate people like Paul suggested.
This calls for a united church of Australia to admit they are sinners and get down on their knees and plead for the power to stop their habitual sins.
Heroin addicts can give up heroin, drinkers can give up the drink, I conquered a 20 year sex addiction, so the church should be able to get serious with sin.
First they have to admit that they have a lot of sin in the camp.
And for the church to admit they are sick publicly would be a humbling experience.
Step 2.
To admit the sin in step 1.
Step 2 is not to pray for the nation and the drought, step 2 is for them to pray for themselves and ask God for the power to resist temptation and be free of their habitual sins.
If they are really honest and really sincere and it is not just a showy cry session, God will see their heart that they want to stop the sin and release them and they will suddenly find the inner power to stop sinning.
Step 3.
God will hear the prayer of the wicked Christians and forgive them and grant them power to be holy and set apart and to be shining examples of what the power of God and the personality of the living God would be like on earth, the churches will grow rapidly from this, crime would go down, more people would come to saving faith and to top it all off.
God would step in and remove his judgement over the nation and turn the drought around.
The question is John.
You have the power to show all the leaders of the churches this letter.
You have the power to make this letter in an edited form be read.
You have the power to make the church see its folly.
Why I know a preacher you could get to come to this country to address the church leaders for one whole month, morning noon and night to bring about this form of repentance that would make God act sovereignly to heal this land, but will you act on this letter of an unlearned man? A famous beloved Apostle of Jesus called John wrote this 1 John 2:26-29 (New King James Version) 26 These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you.
27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will] abide in Him.
This scripture was placed in the Bible to show simple people like me that this Anointing, this Holy Spirit can teach any Christian the Bible and reveal truth of the Bible to them.
I sat down at the keyboard today with just one scripture and as it unfolded the Holy Spirit influenced my hands and gave me inspiration of what to write and a more full understanding of the verse I was going to quote to you.
I will have a proof reader go through this for grammar and English but this will be left as is came out of my hands to show you in sincerity that I am just a simple sinner who knows the heart of God and that He desires the really spiritually and physically heal this land.
The one thing I do ask of you in all of this letter and time I put in is that you respond to this letter and tell me what action you plan to take.
God says the church, the people called by God's name, the born again Christians and the Catholic Church needs to admit their sins, confess their sins and pray for deliverance from their sins BEFORE He can act.
This in not one town in the country, this is not just Hillsong, but this is the whole modern Christian church.
This drought in fact the whole Global warming issue has not taken God by surprise, and He is acting to judge wicked nations, and unless they turn to him, he will not turn it around.
But there is good news for Australia.
One of our early visitors named this country, The great Southland of the Holy Spirit, and God never forgot the naming.
And a more recent evangelist from England this last century said that Australia was going to be the starting place for the last world wide revival to sweep the world before the return of Christ.
This man named Smith Wiggelsworth raised people from the dead and healed many people and so I believe that is the future for this country.
The question is how long should we wait before we get serious with God?
