2008 New York Anime Festival – Trinity Blood Cosplay (Ion Fortuna)
With elaborate trims and jeweled accents, Jennifer H.'s Ion Fortuna outfit was notable for its fine attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Fashion student Jennifer H. came in her "dream outfit," as Ion Fortuna from Trinity Blood. "I wanted to this for a long time," she explained. "Now I go to fashion school, so I was able to create this costume. It took me 10 days to make it!"
I asked her what she loves about Sunao Yoshida's creation, she singled out the novels in particular. "The novels are very different -- it's set in an entirely different world."
Over 18,000 anime, manga, Japanese fashion and pop culture fans came out to the 2nd annual New York Anime Festival at Manhattan's Jacob K. Javits Center. Special guests included the creators of Vampire Hunter D, author Hideyuki Kikuchi and artist Yoshitaka Amano; Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, anime voice actress Rie Tanaka and the designers of Lolita couture house Baby The Stars Shine Bright.
