Casite Quick Works Leather Clean and Leather Luster - Product Review

My first experience with the Casite Company was at my local automotive store. I knew the quality of their motor additives, tire repair and car care products. So I was excited to test this Michigan-based company's line of household laundry products. All of them can still be used to care for automotive interiors but I did my testing in the laundry room and closet!

Quick Works Leather Clean and Leather Luster are formulated for use on leather and vinyl surfaces. The product is Crypton® Powered, which immediately caught my attention. I couldn't let this go unexplored so I did some more research. Casite is a partner with Crypton Fabrics, a Kings Mountain, North Carolina textile manufacturer. The company has worked with the U.S. EPA to develop a disinfectant finish technique for fabric that helps prevent mildew. Quick Works Leather Care uses that same technology.

I usually am testing laundry products for washable fabrics. But most of us have leather belts, shoes, purses and even leather garments that need care. I have a pair of leather Birkenstock sandals that needed some TLC. I had worn them in a muddy area and even though I had cleaned them, they still looked rather dull. I began with Leather Clean, and following instructions, used a white cloth and the Leather Clean to remove all of the stains. It was amazing how much grime was removed. There is no need to rinse because the cleaner also helps to protect the leather from absorbing new stains. The Leather Clean label says that it removes ink, tar, grease, crayons, markers and grime from leather and vinyl.

Leather Clean suggests using Leather Luster to replenish natural oils in the leather. After using it my sandals did have a richer color and felt nice and soft.

I also tested the products on my leather wallet which is a dyed teal leather. There was color loss and dye transfer to the white cloth as I cleaned the leather. Ingredients are not listed. As with any product, always pre-test on an inconspicuous area to be sure the leather is color-safe.

Leather Clean and Leather Luster are available in a 10 oz. pump spray bottles.

One of my complaints is that I had a difficult time finding Quick Works products in stores widely available to the public. You can order Fresh Fabric as part of a cleaning kit online directly from Quick Works. They are not available online as a single purchase.
