How to Remove Items From the Startup Menu in Windows XP
- 1). Click on "Start," then "Run." Type "explorer" and press the "Enter" key.
- 2). Navigate to the "C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Start Menu\Programs\Startup" folder. (Yourusername will show your actual Windows XP login name.)
- 3). Hold down the "Ctrl" button and click once on each program you wish to remove from loading at startup.
- 4). Press the "Del" button on your keyboard once you've selected all startup programs you wish to remove.
- 1). Click on "Start" then "Run." Type "msconfig" and press the "Enter" key.
- 2). Click on the "Startup" tab.
- 3). Click on the box next to each startup program you wish to remove.
- 4). Press "Apply," then "OK" once you've finished removing items from the Startup Menu. Click on "Restart" to reboot the computer.
