    • 1). Remove the cleaning pad and cleaning solution from your Swiffer. Be sure you have a Swiffer Wet Jet (other models do not need batteries). Press the button on the side to remove the solution. Pull the pad off the the head, it uses a hook-and-loop fastener so it will come off easily.

    • 2). Lay the Swiffer down on the floor with the handle facing up. Locate the small white rubber button and the purple tab directly below it on the base of the unit.

    • 3). Press down on the white button as you hold the purple tab and lift it up and out. The batteries are snugly inside the piece you just lifted out.

    • 4). Press the battery on top down with your fingers and gently pull toward you, it will come right out. Repeat for all four batteries. To replace, follow the pattern on the stickers located on the holder.

    • 5). Snap in the bottom two batteries, then do the same for the ones on top. Place your battery holder back into the Swiffer by locating the two small grooves on the bottom of the unit. Locate the two little purple prongs on your battery holder, line them up, and put the prongs into the groves. Snap the head back into place.
