How to Clean Up Paper Mache
- 1). Move a trashcan near the work area. Throw all of the newspapers leftover from the project and other disposable items into trashcan.
- 2). Pour the leftover paper mache paste into the trashcan. Place the container holding the paste leftover from the project into a sink if you plan to keep it. Rinse it out with clean hot water until most of the paste is gone. Add two or three drops of dish soap into the container. Fill it with hot water and let it soak for 30 minutes. Scrub the container clean with a scrub brush. Rinse it with clean water.
- 3). Pour three to four drops of dish soap into a bowl. Fill the bowl with warm water from the sink faucet. Dip the washcloth in the soapy water to wet it and wring out the excess. Wipe off the work surface to remove the wet or drying glue. Toss the washcloth in the trash after you finish.
